Youth Horse Care
Trinity Horse Farm offers a class which incorporates natural horsemanship classes for youth and adolescents in developing skills necessary to care for horses. The skills used for caring for horses often requires one to possess the following personal qualities: respect, communication, discipline, responsibility, punctuality, listening and following instructions, confidence, etc. This program may be designed to address the specific needs of the youth or adolescent so they may take what they learn from this class with the horses and apply it to their everyday life. Since this is an introductory natural horsemanship horse care class the focus is on safety and working around the horses from the ground; there is no riding of the horses. The participants will develop skills in a variety of horse related tasks such as grooming, leading horses, feeding and watering, stable cleaning etc. Classes take place once a week for 8 consecutive weeks and the class time is 1 hour. Group size is up to two students per class. |
